All of a sudden, my "view" is much bigger than my screen.

How do I restore it to normal?

Hello Dbackron2,

By "view", I assume you mean the size of the window for an application.

The specifics vary by application / operating system but the general method is to:
 - click / drag the bar at the top of the window until you can see the
three small icons in the corner. Those three icons generally:
o close the window (usually x)
o minimize (or hide) the window (- or _)
o make the window fit the full screen size (a box or +)
I would try the last one. That would make it a size where you can see
the entire window and then adjust the size (click / drag lower right)
to the size you want.

If that does not work or is unclear, please indicate your operating
system / application you are using. If it does, let me know so I can
prepare a proper answer.

Hi dbackron2,

Have you tried manually adjusting your monitor? Depending on the
manufacturer, you'll find buttons or knobs on it somewhere - adjusting
the size (and perhaps position) should help. hummer

In addition to the suggestions and requests above, please let us know
whether you are using a video card that also supports TV-out; if so,
you may have accidentally switched over to dual-view mode, which for
many video cards is 800x600. This would give you a 'small' porthole
view of the total desktop area.

Sounds like your screen resolution is set larger than your monitor can
handle. This is common with laptops, but can happen with any computer
with more video memory than the monitor can handle. To fix this
problem, right click anywhere on the desktop, and select "Properties".
On the monitor properties, select the "Settings" tab. On this tab,
set your screen resolution to something smaller than you currently
have. Depending on you OS, you may or may not have to reboot.
