In the Movie "War Games" the computer was named WOPR which stands for 'War Operations Planned Response' and it was a pun on the real NORAD computer BURGR. What does BURGR stand for? | |

NORAD's 'burgr' stands for Mc Donalds! :P Just kidding. My verry own uneducated guess is that it stands for: Bastard Un-identified Rocket Gauss-powered Radar system. :P What might you think? |

If noone comes up with anything, why not ask the source? "NORAD, while not subject to the US FOIA or Canadian ATIA, is still a military organization funded by the taxpayers of both nations and, as such, should follow the spirit and intent of both laws. Therefore, it is HQ NORAD policy that US FOIA and Canadian ATIA requests be processed and the information or records requested be provided unless they meet guidelines for non-release due to security classification." http://www.cufon.org/cufon/n135-17.htm |
