I am seeking audio files, recordings or video files in order to study
the vocal patterns and body language of Eric Menendez as I am
conducting research as part of a character study for a role in a play.
Any leads? |

Hello Foxgil,
I located a one hour audio cassette with actual courtroom testimony of
the Menendez Murder Trial.
Description:
- The 911 call
- The witness-stand allegations of childhood sexual abuse
- The actual courtroom testimony that spared two killers from the gas chamber
If this audio cassette is of your interest, I'll be glad to give you
the name of the cassette and information on where you can buy a copy
of it.
Thanks,
Bobbie7

Hello Bobbie7,
I appreciate the quick response. One thing though. ..
If I'm not mistaken, the 911 call was made by Lyle, not Eric. If that
is true, the tape would still suit my needs as long as the remainder
of the tape (i.e., the witness stand allegations and courtroom
testimony) was certain to contain a substantial amount of dialogue
coming from Eric, himself.
As to getting a look at Eric's physicality: walking/talking, sitting/standing,
acting/reactioning, I find myself wondering about the existance and
availability of video footage that corresponds with or
augments the audio tape you've uncovered.
Beyond that, I wonder if an expanded search might lead to video
of Eric from relevant miscellaneous highschool/ post highschool activites.
Suggestions?
Thanks,
Foxgil

Dear Foxgil,
Please review the following.
Audio
The Private Diary of Lyle Menendez
?Catch a glimpse inside the mind of one of the most notorious
murderers in recent memory - Lyle Menendez. The cold-blooded murder of
Jose and Kitty Menendez shocked the nation. At first it seemed to be
the work of the mob, but it soon became apparent that the murderers
were their sons Lyle and Erik. Their first trial started a media
frenzy and was filled with lurid details, but these never clearly
explained why the brothers killed their parents. Now you can hear
Lyle's own words as he talks to a middle-aged single mother, Norma
Novelli, with whom he corresponded for years. Listen as he divulges
many never before shared secrets to Norma, and then decide for
yourself what caused the Menendez brothers to commit their horrifying
crime.?

Here is the link to the first audio book I mentioned. It appears that
the 911 call was made by Lyle. It doesn?t say if the rest of tape
contains dialogue coming from Eric.

thanks for all the help, Bobbie7.
I followed the link to the first audio book you mentioned and it took
me to ebay where I am currently the only one bidding for it. The court
TV sight you referred me to may be more promissing still. It seems
that Barbara Walters conducted a 1996 interveiw with Eric and Lyle in
the same jail where she interveiwed Robert Blake. Can you confirm
this?

Dear Foxgil,
?It seems that Barbara Walters conducted a 1996 interveiw with Eric
and Lyle in the same jail where she interveiwed Robert Blake. Can
you confirm this??
Yes I this is correct.
From Court TV?s Crime Libray:
?Prior to being formally sentenced on July 2, 1996, Lyle and Erik gave
an interview to Barbara Walters for the television program 20/20. The
purpose of the interview was to gain public support for the brothers?
bid to be imprisoned together.?
http://www.crimelibrary.com/notorious_murders/famous/menendez/punishment_18.html?sect=7
?Erik Menendez said he felt "tremendous remorse" for the slayings in a
1996 interview with ABCNEWS' Barbara Walters. "There's not a day that
goes by that I don't think about what happened and wish I could take
that moment back."
