Hi grthumongous!
George Gordon Battle Liddy
and
Irving Lewis Libby
Libby's Irving can be shortened to Irv, and he has a nickname of "Scooter".
"George Gordon Battle Liddy (born November 30, 1929) was the chief
operative for President Richard Nixon's White House Plumbers unit that
broke into the Watergate complex in 1972 and led to Nixon's
resignation in 1974."

There are plenty of instances of Gordon Liddy's "George" once you know
what you're looking for, but the "Irving" is not well documented on
the web.
I also looked at the New York Times and the Washington Post and didn't
find his full name used there at all.
It was a pleasure to answer one of your questions again, grthumongous.
Please just ask if you want any clarification.
Best Wishes - Leli
