I'm looking for books or articles chronicling the influx of Indian
gurus in America from 1965 to the present. Names, numbers of
followers, reasons why, disappointments. I'm not looking for books or
articles about a specific guru but more of an overview.

Dear Bob,

I could point you to several sources. However, please note, that the
pricing guide regarding this level of price states: """The Google
Answers Pricing Guide:

$2 - $5 · Can be answered with a single link or a single piece of
information. Sometimes, if a researcher is personally interested in
the question's subject, they may provide a longer answer.
  · Not appropriate for multipart questions.

Therefore, could you please tell me how many books you're looking for,
in which level (academic or "simple"), from which years (recent or
any), etc.?

I believe I've already done a pretty thorough search--tho' without
much luck-- so all I'm really looking for would be one or two books
(or articles) that provide a chronology/chronicle (hopefully including
names of gurus, when they arrived, numbers of followers, etc.) of the
Indian guru influx after 1965. Thanks very much.
