Do you have a scanner? Do you have Photoshop or other image enhancing software?

Yes I have a scanner and several image enhancing programs, including
Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro and Microsoft Picture It. I am most
proficient in the use of the latter, but if I could be directed to the
appropriate feature of the other programs, I'm game!

There's actually no quick way to fax BW pics via scanner and a
computer system. It will take a little time and effort but at least
you'll be able to fax better quality images than just feeding the pic
directly into the fax machine and sending it. Since you have a scanner
and the appropriate programs, do you have a fax program such as Winfax
or Talkworks Pro? If you do, are you still game?

I don't presently have a fax modem (although I've had them before)
which is why I was hoping to be able to achieve acceptable results
merely by feeding the photos directly into a desktop fax machine. If
this isn't feasible, however, I am willing to obtain the necessary
equipment and software. (I would still like to know the answer to my
original question, though, just out of curiosity.)
