Cannot get on AOL internet service. The following is the error message: "Your network adapter appears to be missing or not installed. If you are unable to locate your manufacturers driver CD included with the adapter, the necessary drivers may be present on this CD under the \Drivers folder." This problem happened when I downloaded the Norton Internet Security. |

I would test this out by disabling Norton. It appears the hardware may have become disabled. Naturally, if it works with Norton off, you know that it is a config issue that should be resolvable from within the program. |

You did not specify what version of AOL you are trying to run. If you can find your AOL Adapter through the Control Panel (Network Connections or Device Manager you can select it remove or uninstall it and reboot and it will be re created. Or if you have the AOL CD installation disk, you can re install AOL again it then it should work properly. If it does and a week or so, you can go to ADD/Remove and choose uninstall AOL and then select the old version to unisntall from you "Program folder." If you have AOL 8 or 9, if you could get online, you could use the automatic Fix on the website. |

Your network card seems to not be working properly or you port has been blocked by the software.. |
