As a researcher, I hate to be stumped, but for the life of me I can't
find this script anywhere!

A few months ago, I found a script that was used as a vertical menu
set based on a table layout. When you moused over a <td> menu item,
the entire menu element faded to a different color. I found a script
by Impenetrable.org <http://projects.impenetrable.org/linkfader/> that
matches what I want, but it only does it to text, not the entire table
element.

Can someone find me the script, of which I know no name, but have
described above. Please post your 'answer' as a clarification first,
so I can make sure the script matches what I need. If it does, you
can claim the answer and probably a tip.

Thanks, and good luck!

See if the script on this page is useful. You may need
to work with it a little to get the cells to be clickable
links, but it's a good start:

That's exactly what I'm looking for, although not the same script, but
who cares if it does basically the same thing, thanks!

You can claim the answer :)

Hey guess what ... using your search and varying it a little bit, I
actually found the original script!

Excellent! The original fades a little slowly for my taste
when you mouse over it, but you can always adjust the speed.

For the sake of propriety, here's my original answer:
