Question ID: 308255
I am looking for a remix of the song "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of this)"
by the Eurythmics. This is apparently a very rare remix, because I
have looked for it for many years, and can not find it. I heard it on
the radio station 88.5 in Atlanta ,GA sometime in the mid 90's. I had
a
cassette tape recording the radio the night it played and have since
transfered this song to CD. The song should be easy to Identify as
it has lyrics that do not appear in other versions that I have heard. It
starts with a man speaking who says "Behold Here Comes the Dream,[he
says this several times & then:] let us sleep and see what will become
of his dream." Then the traditional lyrics are sung (by Annie
Lennox)then back to the
man singing. The song is about eight min or so long. It is a very
Dance/Club remix.

I am more or less trying to find out what the name of this remix is
(i.e., John Doe's Dance Remix) and how, where, and if I can purchase
download, etc.

Hello.

It's called "Sweet Dreams - Nightmare Mix."

A newsgroup message indentifies the "Behold here comes the dream"
lyrics as part of a mix that appeared on a 1991 single that contained
4 mixes of "Sweet Dreams" as well as on an earlier 12" single:

'actually there were 2 CD singles - one with SD 91 and 3 previously
released songs and another with 4 mixes of SD. One of the mixes is
about 8 minutes long and has more of a house/trance feel - some sax,
and clips of a voice saying "Behold here comes the dream" - this mix
was done by a fan and also appears on one of the "Angel" 12" singles
(1990)'

The 4-mix CD mentioned above is PD45032. It's described in this other
newsgroup post:

"It's on RCA and the number is PD45032. There are four mixes
altogether on this single:
1. Sweet Dreams '91 (3:33)
2. Sweet Dreams-Nightmare mix (7:26)
3. Sweet Dreams '91-Hot remix (5:18)
4. Sweet Dreams '91-House mix (3:33)"

Clearly, the 7:26 length of the "Nightmare Mix" indicates that it's
the ~8 minute version that the previous message indicated contains the
"Behold here comes the dream" lyrics.

According to the following Eurythmics discography, the "Nightmare mix"
appeared on the following releases:

12" vinyl RCA PT 45032
