I'm looking for the text of a poem I read in college. It's written in Spanish, and the author's name is Juan Bonilla. I believe he is from South America - definitely not Mexican, but perhaps Spanish. The poem contains these lines (this is somewhat approximate, but basically correct): "que me importa el desorden de mis cabellos en el lecho [?] postrada si conmigo no yace [?] ni me los peina el que despues de amarme me los pienaba". I just want to read it again - I have no intention of copying or distributing or anything like that, so copyright issues shouldn't be a problem. If it helps, I know he won a major Latin American poetry prize in 1995 or 1996. Another poem he wrote is called "Fumar en Sarajevo". Thanks. |

Hi Branone, Thanks for introducing me to this very interesting writer. He is in fact Spanish, born in Jerez in 1966. He is a writer in many forms, including novels and essays, as well as poetry. His essays are regularly published in El Mundo, a Madrid newspaper. He has written two books of poetry: Partes de Guerra (1996)--which is perhaps the volume in which Fumar en Sarajevo appears--and El Belvedere (2002). So the poem you seek is most probably in one of these two books. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find the text of the poem online. So you may have to buy, or locate in a good library, these two volumes of his poetry. scribe_ga |
