I've heard good things about the Ricoh G4w:

"Ask someone what they think is a digital camera's main disadvantage
compared to traditional cameras and you would expect a lot of them to
say 'the shutter lag'. This is hardly surprising, even the smallest
lag between pressing the shutter and the camera doing its work could
mean the difference between success and failure.

Shutter lag is caused when the camera takes a moment to calculate what
it thinks are the appropriate settings for aperture, shutter speed,
auto focussing, ISO settings, white balance and flash mode. A lot of
cameras are able to keep this lag time to a mere 2 tenths of a second,
but sometimes even this is too long. Most cameras will allow you to
override the camera and have preset settings which helps to bring this
lag down, however the more you override, the higher the chance of
over/under exposure, focus problems and various other faults.

This is where the Ricoh G4w could find its niche - the camera sports a
shutter lag delay of only 0.14ms."

Well thanks for that Pinkfreud. I am about to buy one and that is just
the info I needed. Not my question but almost feel obligated to slip
you a cupla dollars under the computer, so to speak.
