Thank you for your question!

The EyeStar II camera is a discontinued product by Microtek.

Microtek maintains web-based support for this product, which includes
driver downloads for Windows 98 only. This is the only operating
system supported by Microtek, apparently the camera is incompatible
with any later version of Windows, and MacOS has never been supported.

You can find the Win98 driver and manuals at:

http://www.support.microtek.com/product_dtl_2.phtml?prod_id=dsc028&ctgy=7

Please note that Microtek only provides a driver for Windows 98.
Unfortunately, many PC cameras designed for Windows 98 proved to be
incompatible with later versions of Windows due to their electronics,
apparently the Eyestar II is one of them.

I hope that this helps,

Thanks for the reply, but what i actually asked for is not USB. We
used to connect it with serial keyboard, the driver u sent wasnt the
right driver for the eye 2 star webcamera i've got. it has a PS2 and
serial keyboard cable all terminated at the same end not a USB
type.pls send me the required driver for this type of webcam camera.
the one u sent after installation no image appears on the screen.it
gives a purple screen. so i guess the driver u sent isn't the right
driver.

I am sorry that the driver was not the correct one. The model name you
had mentioned, "EYESTAR 2 PC CAMERA", made me think that you have the
Eyestar II, which is only available in a USB version.

It appears that the camera you have is actually the original Eyestar,
which uses a parallel port connection along with a PS/2 adapter to
provide power for the camera.

The driver for Windows 95 and Windows 98 for this camera can be found
on the Microtek website, here:

http://www.support.microtek.com/product_dtl_2.phtml?prod_id=dsc027&ctgy=7

Please try this driver, and let me know if it works for you.

As well, I noticed that you have already chosen to rate this question.
Unfortunately, the Google Answers system does not allow you to change
your rating once it has been made. Ratings are important to Google
Answers Researchers, so if this driver works for you, I would ask that
you consider sending an e-mail to "answers-support@google.com" to ask
them to change the rating for you to whichever level you feel
appropriate.

This driver looks like correct driver for EYESTAR 2 PC CAMERA but I
could not be able to install the disk 2 and i thought that the disk 2
will contain VOCALTEK'S INTERNET PHONE, ULEAD SYSTEM'S IPHOTO EXPRESS,
MEDIAMOTION'S MMPHONE AND ADOBE'S ACROBAT READER. When I was
installing the disk1, it asked me that I should restart the computer
but I click no, not to restart according to the driver instruction. I
now click on the disk2 but it did not appair in a good format that can
let it install. The question is how can I install the disk2?

segad-ga:

You need to uncompress both disk 1 and disk 2 before you run the setup
program from disk 1. It should ask you for the disk 2 location if it
needs any files from there.

As for the other software you mention, they are not part of the driver
from Microtek. Microtek may have distributed them on their original
distribution CD, but as they do not own the software, they cannot
distribute them in the download files. You can contact Microtek
directly using their e-mail support system found at:

http://www.support.microtek.com/email_support.phtml

to ask them if it is possible for them to send you the software.

You can also download some of the software directly from their
manufacturers. Please note that Vocaltek and Mediamotion are no longer
in business.

Ulead Photo Express is available for $12.95 from Ulead (if you do not
wish to purchase the software, contact Microtek to see if they will
provide it to you):

http://www.ulead.com/pe/runme.htm

Adobe Acrobat Reader can be downloaded for free from:

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Please note that this camera has been discontinued by Microtek for
quite some time, so do not be surprised if they cannot help you obtain
copies of the software, especially the software from companies that no
longer exist.
