Australian Libraries do not have Russian newspapers dating to this time. The articles can be emailed or faxed Thanks | |

You might want to search the English language versions of Tass and Pravda from that era. They should be available in libraries. Itar-Tass is also on the WWW. hlabadie-ga |

I do not need the answers before march so your time line is fine The reason for the Russian newspaper needs is that the assignment is based upon each countires response to the Bay of Pigs invasion by the USA through the media. In other words "what they told the people". WE have managed to get the info from Cuba and USa but Russia is hard Our library is miising the period between 1950-1969 I am not sure how to access the others. Our library did recommend www.newspaers.com, however we dont speak russian to know what the newspaper is saying Thanks for your quick response Sue |

The problem with the site www.newspapers.com, is that it only contains links (not always updated) to the newspapers. It doesn't insure that these newspapers would have an online archive, that reaches those years (which is pretty rare online). |

Hello sue59-ga: I'm just letting you know I'm contacting some universities that have Russian Studies departments to inquire if they have such materials, and if they can match you up with a professor or student who could search the archives on your behalf. If and when I hear back, I'll let you know. You would have to pay such a student a fee for doing the research, but this may be about the only hope of finding the material you need! At least it's an option for you to consider. Regards, nanclynn-ga |

Hi Sue: This question has expired, so you may want to re-post it, noting that it's a re-post of expired question at: http://www.answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=309107#a If you want me, specifically, to continue working on it, you can put "For nancylynn-ga" in the title of the question, if you'd like. I have made contact with a retired professor of Russian studies who is arranging to put me in touch with students who can successfully do this research. He also noted that finding these materials on the Internet is likely impossible; so, this will have to be done as an on-site library/archive search. So, if you go ahead and re-post this (it will cost you 50 cents), I'll attempt to contact students who can handle this assignment. Regards, nancylynn-ga |
