The Toyota Prius was introduced in the U.S. market in August of 2000. 
Its U.S.  sales in the 2000-2003 period were as follows:


2000: 5562 (August-December)
2001: 15556
2002: 20119
2003: 21193

Toyota projects U.S. sales in 2004 at 35,000 cars.
