How do Muslims view left-handers among their own religious group, particularly among individuals aged 16 to 25 years and those aged 40 years and above. Reference to at least 3 different sources (websites, articles, journals). I also need stats (and any numbers) for comparison between the two age groups, preferably among the South East Asian community. |

In Islam, using left hand by any group of age,is not a sin .But in Islam,it is always recomended and prefered to use right hand. I cannot understand which type of comparision do you want. Please be more specific. Regards Ijaz Ahmad Lahore-Pakistan |

I'm trying to find the comparison of the two mentioned age groups with respect to the acceptance & tolerance of lefthandedness within the Islamic community. For example, the older generation may find it less tolerant for a member of their family (eg. a child) to be lefthanded and therefore, insist on that individual to switch handedness. On the other hand, we may find a growing level of tolerance towards lefthandedness within the present generation. I'm looking for such change in attitude between the two age groups, with support of stats and such, as well as any related historical incidents of intolerance, if any. Hope that helps. |
