I am looking for research articles and references on language
development in children, aged 3-5 years, having English as a second
language.

Hi merri,

Could you let me know what the children's native language is? Are you
interested in articles related to small children simultaneously
learning English and the native language?

Thanks! Your response will allow me to narrow my search!

Hi merri,

I have compiled a list of articles, readings, and resources for you.
As a parent of bilingual daughters, and a grandmother of bilingual
granddaughters, I feel this first link is most helpful. (My hope is
that you do not encounter the resistance I do and did.) This first
site helps dispel the myth that young children will be confused by
learning and learning in, two languages.
?Research shows that children who study a foreign language in the
preschool or elementary years have a higher level of success in their
other studies, particularly English and math.?
