reported a gold find in Indonesia and when the stock market discovered
they were lying. I NEED STOCK PRICES FOR THIS PERIOD IN THE COMPANY'S
HISTORY SO I CAN MAKE A GRAPH ON MICROSOFT EXCEL....~0R~...IF YOU CAN
FIND A READY MADE GRAPH THAT I CAN COPY AND PASTE INTO A REPORT
OUTLINING THE RISE AND FALL OF THE COMPANY'S STOCK VALUE DURING THIS

Hello.

There's a very nice chart of the rise and fall of BRE-X stock on Page
12 of this document:
GOIZUETA BUSINESS SCHOOL: BRE-X MINERALS LTD.
http://www.trendvue.com/library/rad93D63.pdf

(This document is in PDF format, so the Adobe Acrobat Reader is
required. If you don't have that, visit:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html )

-----------

search strategy:
bre-x gold scandal
bre-x, 1993, 1997

I hope this helps. If you have any trouble pasting the chart, you can
just take a screenshot from the document. If you need help with that,
let me know.

I should note that the stock prices in the document cited are in
Canadian dollars and reflect stock splits.

The information provided is helpful, although I needed more of a
day-by-day table of stock prices so that I can fiddle around and make
different types of graphs for the Bre-X Scandal. If THAT could be
found it would be great because I have a presentation to do on this
scandal and so I will be required to create various types of graphs.
Please let me know if that can be done.
Thank you VERY VERY much..

If you just wanted stock information for a few specific dates, I might
be able to find that by searching newpaper databases. However, I'm
very sorry to report that there's no easy way to obtain day-to-day
prices for BRE-X for, say, a two or three-year period. None of the
historical quote web sites (BigCharts, Yahoo, etc) have daily quotes
for stocks such as BRE-X that have been de-listed.

Your question stated, "...~0R~...IF YOU CAN FIND A READY MADE GRAPH..."

I understood "OR" to mean that a graph would be an acceptable alternative.

I guess it won't help much there's another graph on this German web page:
http://www.bgmanthey.com/neuermarkt.htm
(You'll notice that the shape is identical to the chart in the
Goizueta Business School report).

You might try making making a visit to your local library. There are
a number of books about the BRE-X scandal. It's possible that one or
more of those books has detailed stock information:
Bre-X: The Inside Story by Diane Francis
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1550139134/
The Bre-X Fraud by Douglas Goold
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0771033346/
"BRE-X: The Inside Story of the World's Biggest Mining Scam"
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/075281379X/

Again, I hope this has been of some help.
