Clicking on links results in normal fast response sometimes and long
waits other times with no green flashing of monitor screens on the
internet ikon in the system tray.  These delays are new since I went
from IE 5.0 to 5.5 and at the same time changed ISPs from Earthlink to
BellSouth.  I am running WIN98SE.

How can I restore normal fast access times??

It may depend on your line or ISP. Please check with BellSouth first
regarding this matter.

Your new ISP is the most likely cause.

If you are on cable, something may need tweaking. Mine did on a couple
of occasions. I'm in the UK.
