My operating system is Windows 98. I am unable to open any pdf
attachment. I have only had this trouble since I had a new harddrive
installed recently. When I try to go to a pdf attachment of a website
or email, a box comes up warning me of lack of security in such. When
I ask to go ahead anyway another box comes up asking me which file I
wish to use to retrieve said attachment. There are many, many listed.
I not only do not know which to use, I do not wish to make that
choice each time. Before my recent work on my computer, this was
apparently set as a default or automatic or something. I would like
to have that again. What do I do? Bob.

Hi Bob,

Based on your descriptions, I believe you don't have Adobe Acrobat
Reader installed in your system because you're using a new hard drive.
That's the reason why you can't open pdf files because there's no
software to open them. Don't worry, since you can connect to the
Internet, you only need to download and install the program via the
link below.

Adobe Systems Incorporated
Adobe® Reader®
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

You can also download it through the following links by right-clicking
on a link and choosing "Save Target As..." Please choose one version
only.

Adobe® Reader® 6.0.1, Basic Version
http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/6.x/6.0/enu/AdbeRdr60_enu.exe

Adobe® Reader® 6.0.1, Full Version
http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/6.x/6.0/enu/AdbeRdr60_enu_full.exe

Please follow the program instructions when installing.

Thank you for your response to my question about the billing charges.
Google answered today and I am wrong. I did not realize their billing
carried over from prior months. It is fine and I now know how to
check their invoice which I will do from now on if I have a question.
Sorry for the inquiry. Bob Hance.

Worked perfectly. I always enjoy working out my problems on Google
Answers. That way I don't have to look anyone in the eye that is
probably thinking, "Just how dumb is this guy?" Thanks, Bob.
