I want to be able to download the daily closing stock price and volume
data for two specific securities in MS Excell (or compatible) format.
The securities are in question are WHX Corp Preferred Series A and WHX
Corp Preferred Series B. The Stock symbol for each is WHX/P and
WHX/PB. I checked Yahoo Finance and for some reason, the historical
information for WHX/PB goes back only to November 17, 2003. The
shares have been trading on the NYSE for many years. How else can I
get downloadable historic stock prices for these securities beyond
November 2003?

Nealetr --

This is an interesting one: there are very few references to the
preferred stocks for WHX. It may be due to thin trading; it also
could be due to treatment of the stock more as a bond.

Two excellent sources of historical trading online are:
http://www.123jump.com
http://bigcharts.com

Both show trading for WHX but not for either of the preferreds.

There is still one other way that you could pull historical data. It
is more painstaking (being more manual), though it's likely that your
local library has it online. Pulling each day's prices could take 3-5
minutes. I can describe it if you'd like.
