Hi Easterangel-ga,

Thank you for your response. Your search parameters look appropriate,
including the ?directory?, but none of the links appear to be for a
directory of companies. They all appear to be directly with a handful
of individual companies who outsource. My problem is that the largest
firms are easy to locate. I am trying to find the smaller, 25 ? 50
staff firms who seek outsourcing opportunities and will need to filter
out the large, well known companies and the tiny startups. I have
already done this with a list of 191 Companies who are software
exporters in a government publication for Hyderabad. Needless to say,
I didn?t need the book to find Oracle, Microsoft, Motorola, KPMG, and
several other well known global companies, but it turned out that
there were a couple of medium sized, local companies on that list as
well. I wish to find more in Hyderabad, and many more in the other
major Indian cities. This led to my question on google about
"directories".

in India with email contacts", simply asks for a list of companies.
Based on this I have answered your question completely. You didn't
mention anything about small and medium companies or you would require
a directory.

Google Answers Researchers can only work based on the parameters you
have set in your question. We also have no way of knowing what sites
you have visited previously. Since the parameters of your
clarification has extended from the original question, please post
this as a new question so that other researchers might take a crack at
this.

I can see (now) how my question could be clearer, but I am
disappointed in your response to my objection.

I am not used to using Google Answers, but I think that anyone who
could find Google Answers is capable to do a search and create a list
of hits, and why stop at X number. Why not just 3, which might be
interrupted as a list, albeit a short one, or exhaust the entire
Google search results, checking each site for validity and an email
address.

I was looking for lists, as in directories, that have been posted on
the Internet that a skilled search might locate. I can see how you
read the question. I just think that, using your experience and
knowledge; you might have seen other possibilities as well and would
have seeked clarification first. I hope you can see my perspective.

Hi again jerry.

I'm sorry if my response in the clarification may seem to you quite
strong. It is just actually an explanation of what we can and what we
cannot do. Furthermore, maybe what we can and cannot assume. We read a
question as it is because of the following...

a. We perceive it is the info our clients want.
b. We go on straight to the point of the answer since one of our task
is to help wade the customer through all the information overload out
there.

When I stop at a certain number, I take into consideration two things.
The number of items out there and also the price of the question.

In truth jerry, I was actually targeting "directories" since it can
make my work faster and will also give a great number of links. In
fact most of the companies here was taken from this directory...

But I cannot post these directories directly since I have to weed out
each and every company that will be applicable to the list you desire.
I needed to check out twenty five web pages in this directory alone to
cover those from India. None of them satisfies me that it will be to
your advantage. Since most of them even Yahoo have broken links or the
companies are not from India. Sometimes one cannot be so sure that
they have outsourcing projects at all.

I hope you can understand our situation. I didn't seek any
clarification since I felt that the question was pretty
straightforward. Usually customers seeking a list must be given a
list. Whether through directories or for us to compose a list on our
own if we can't find a satisfactory directory.

Thanks for your response and explaination, easterangel-ga, I appreciate it.

I do (and did) appreciate your position. The only issue really was
your interpretation of my question. You saw one interpretation and
either did not see another interpretation, or you saw more and assumed
your first response was adequate for the money offered. Either way, I
have learned to try and be more specific and try to avoid these
unfortunate situations.

Moving on, I am hopeful that www.ezgoal.com will be useful, so I am
pleased that we pursued this discussion.

The answer was little off target, but the question could have been
worded to avoid ambiguity.

Dear jerry_s-ga,
Most of the companies you find from google are doing search engine
optimization to be on top of search engine. You are looking for small
and medium size company for your project i suggest you few things.

Use Nasscom company finder for India. Nasscom (National Association of
Software & Service Companies) is premier association of Indian
Software Company.

Here you will find medium size outsourcing company. I am sure that
small and start-up are not listed there. There are small companies or
startup in India which might not in big cities like Bangalore,
Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai and Delhi. These six cities accounted
95 % of Indian outsourcing revenue.

There are various "Software Technology park of India" for different
city like Hyderabad, Noida(near Delhi), Navi-Mumbai. You can find few
companies here also.

My company which is also small and start-up is not listed in these
groups of sites. So I am sure there are more small and medium size
companies which are good and gives quality work are not listed in
these association.

I am sure (100%) most of the companies you would find on google with
search string "India software offshore companies" or "India software
outsourcing" has used some famous search engine optimization
technique. I see 3 page list of google and no of the company is Top
Indian outsourcing company.
 
I don?t want to discourage you but want to help you to find good
outsourcing partner. If you say something about your project I will
help you more.
