Hi aitsikeston~
Although picnics and tailgating are fun, some caution should be taken
against hazards like food poisoning. So before you prepare your
tailgating meal, be sure to check out the following article: ?Safe
Picnics,? Clemson Extension,

Next, take a peak at what some caterers and restaurants suggest for tailgate menus:

Also look at ?Tailgate Party,? Hannaford, which includes more basic
items, like hot dogs:

About.com also offers some great general tailgating tips. Among them:
?Select food that can either be cooked ahead and transported to the
event, or cooked there on a grill?Keep cold food cold (40 degrees or
lower) and hot food hot (140 degrees and above) to avoid food
poisoning. If you plan to bring alcoholic beverages, check with the
stadium first to make sure it's permitted. Don't forget to bring
bottle openers and corkscrews, if necessary. At the very minimum
you'll need a large, heavy cloth on which to spread out the food. All
the better if you can bring a table to go under the cloth. Pack
disposable plates and cups. Who wants to do the dishes after having so
much fun? Be prepared to clean up after yourself. That includes
putting any leftovers you plan to keep in cold storage, throwing away
your trash in available trash cans or bags that you've brought along,
and safely dispose of any hot coals from your grill. Don't leave a hot
grill unattended if you're heading in to the event.? (?Nothing Can
Spoil a Great Tailgating Party? by Donna Pilato, About.com,

It?s an excellent idea to make a list ahead of time of every tool,
gadget, or item you?ll need for the party. Include food, too. Then, as
you pack up, check off each item. It?s a good idea to use as few
gadgets, etc. as you can get away with, so plan your menu accordingly.
Don?t neglect to bring lots of bottled water to avoid dehydration;
sunscreen is a good idea, too.
To determine how much you?ll need in the way of beverages, be sure to
check out ?Beverage Calculator,? Better Homes & Gardens,
http://ww4.bhg.com/bhg/story.jhtml?storyid=/templatedata/bhg/story/data/13747.xml
As for presentation ideas, keep it pretty simple. Try dressing in team
colors. Use paper plates, cups, and utensils in team colors, too. If
you really want to be creative, you might try making the food in team
colors, also ? Be sure to arrive early? the pros suggest 3 to 4 hours
early, if you want a good spot. Park next to a grassy area or at the
end of the parking row; this will make tailgating a lot more
enjoyable. If possible, place a large pole on your vehicle once you?re
parked, and put a flag atop it, so friends can easily find you.
Decorate your vehicle with team paraphernalia, like pennants,
balloons, etc. Don?t forget to bring along at least one collapsible
table and plenty of collapsible chairs. For the easiest eating, tv
trays can be used.
If you want music be sure to bring a portable CD player and a good
variety of music. If kids will be present, be sure to bring along
games and toys. For some great creative ideas (like using football
helmets for chip dip) see ?Great Tailgating Ideas,? Do It Yourself,
