I need help associating music artist with their appropriate genre in a
quick and easy way. I want to know some web sites or web site that can
help me with this association. What i really would like to find is a
web site that i could type an artist name in a search box and for it
to immediatly give me the appropiate detailed genre they are
associated with.  I have 10,000+ artist that need to be catagorized,
so the easier, simpler, and quicker the web site can give the info the
better...   Thanks

I'm not sure what you mean by "detailed genre."  

There is a Web site where you can enter each artist's name in the
search box and get information that includes a one-word identification
of the artist's genre, along with a separate identification of one or
more "styles" within that genre that apply to the artist.  For
example, a search for "Hootie and the Blowfish" will call up a page
that identifies the group's genre as "Rock" and its styles as
"American Trad Rock," "Jam Bands," and "Adult Alternative Pop/Rock."

Assuming that the 10,000 artists you want to categorize have recorded
material that has been released (or re-released) on CD, this
information should be available for the vast majority of them.

If this kind of searchable "genre" and "style" information would meet
your requirements, let me know and I will post an answer for you.

provided the link to the site that I had described to you in my
earlier clarification request.  Through no fault of your own, you now
have at no cost the essence of the answer I would have provided, and I
