Was there a law passed in the Los Angeles Area a couple of years ago requiring gun ranges to only rent to two or more individuals to prevent suicide attempts? What motivated that law? |

Hello Survivor2000-ga, Although I found some evidence of a problem of people committing suicide at gun ranges in the Los Angeles area, I have found no evidence of a law such as the one that you have described. Information about the suicides can be found through a search of the Los Angeles Times archive. You will have to pay a fee to read the full articles. Los Angeles Times Archives Search: gun rental suicide http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/latimes/results.html?QryTxt=gun+rental+suicide Los Angeles Times Archives Search: gun range suicide http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/latimes/results.html?num=25&st=basic&QryTxt=gun+range+suicide&sortby=RELEVANCE&datetype=0&x=25&y=20 However, after searching the Los Angeles Municipal Code, the Los Angeles County Code, and the California Firearms Laws, I haven?t been able to find any laws requiring gun ranges to only rent to two or more individuals. Los Angeles Municipal Code http://lacodes.lacity.org/NXT/gateway.dll?f=templates&fn=default.htm Los Angeles County Code http://ordlink.com/codes/lacounty/index.htm California Firearms Laws Booklet http://caag.state.ca.us/firearms/cflfin.htm Googlenut |
