Hi,

I have a new website at www.easyonlinebackup.co.uk and around 5 weeks
ago, I placed a link to it from my other website at
www.windowonwales.co.uk, which has a PR of 5. I thought by now the
link would show up and my new website would develop a little PR of its
own. What is your opinion please?

Google has ways of telling if two sites are operated by the same
person or company. Presumably they look at servers and WHOIS records.
The same thing happened to me - I started a new site, on a different
server, and linked to it from my PR6 site. It is the only link. My new
site has PR0, like yours. Google knows that the link is your own.

The solution - get some genuine links.

I'd like to offer you a comment.

Best to promote your site using ethical tactics.

If the 'little voice' in your head tells you a particular tactic is
sneaky or even borderline spammy, it probably is. Believe me, many
others ahead of you have tried it and probably regret doing it.

The guys and gals at G are very smart and probably have anticipated
virtually everything a user can do to try to fool their index (which
is very determined 'not to be fooled'). I think I read more than half
of their employees have Phd's.

Read, learn and promote your site properly for best results.

If you're serious about promoting your site, hang out at the forums
and you'll get the idea.
