Can a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3), organization funding research transfer title to patents in discoveries from that research to an affiliated for-profit entity without jepardizing their not-for-profit status? Alternatively, is it acceptable for a 501(c)(3) organization to enable an affiliated for-profit entity to have advanced knowlege of research discoveries in order for the for-profit entity to file patent applications prior to publication of the research? |
