"RG6 Cable - A coaxial cable used for broadband video applications.
RG6 has an 18 gauge center conductor, allowing a higher bandwidth than
the RG59 cable, which has a smaller 20 gauge center conductor. RG6
uses standard ?F? connectors for video equipment connections."

"RG-6 ? RG-6 is a type of coaxial cable, used typically for carrying
video signals, such as CATV signals, DSS signals, and video camera
signals in a typical HCS environment. Sometimes RG-59 is substituted
for RG-6, but this is not recommended. RG-6 has a thicker center
conductor, and a better shield, allowing for better signal quality,
better interference immunity, and longer working distances than RG59."

"The RG6/U "quad-shielded" variety offers maximum shielding from
extraneous interference from devices such as computers, CD players and
other electronic sources of interference. However, while the RG6/U has
similar specs to RG59/U, it is not a match in terms of electrical
specifications, and we do not recommend using it in an installation
already containing RG59/U cable. In fact, we offer a word of caution
about coaxial cables in general: do not mix different types of coaxial
cable unless their technical specs match exactly."
