What are crab cakes and what do they taste like?

Hi Tisme,

Crabcakes are a gift from heaven! Actually, crabcakes are patties made
with crabmeat, and lightly fried.

My grandmother, affectionately called Mom Mom, made mouthwatering crabcakes from:

Lump Blue crab meat
Saltine cracker crumbs (whole crackers rolled between waxed paper,
with a rolling pin)
Mayonnaise
Mustard
Old Bay seasoning
Worchestershire sauce (just a few drops)
An egg
A little onion
Lemon juice

Crabcakes, cole slaw, hush puppies, and watermelon on the back porch
for dessert! No other meal like it for me!

What do crabcakes taste like? Well, they don?t taste like chicken! Indescribably
good. Finger-lickin' good. Melt in your mouth good. To borrow an
expression from a North Carolina friend of mine, "So good they make
you want to slap yo mama!"
