I am looking for a summer course or camp that fits the following parameters:
- For a 14 year old boy, but can be mixed with adults
- Visual arts/sculpture focus
- Actitivities should include learning metal welding (not jewelry soldering)
- Will start AFTER August 8th
- If it is a course it must be in New York City vicinity
- If it is a sleepaway camp it must last 1-2 weeks maximum
I am not sure whether there will be positive results to this search.
If you are convinced that this does not exist, remove the welding
parameter, but stick with sculpture. In that case I would like at
least one result in New York City.
Good luck and thank you.

I found an arts program in Brockport for New York State high school
students between the ages of 14 and 18 years old, currently enrolled
in grades 8 through 12. It?s a four-week program from July 3 to July
31, 2004.

This includes work in the studio with watercolor, printmaking,
sculpture, mixed media; figure, landscape, and nature drawing and
painting; and interdisciplinary arts under the direction of noted
exhibiting artist/educators. Related activities will include drawing
and painting from a live model, trips to farms and lakes in the area,
and experience with art processes that include welding, casting,
direct carving, modeling life-size objects in clay, and experimenting
with a variety of printmaking techniques.

I didn?t find a shorter course for the month of August.

Would this program be of your interest?

Thanks,
Bobbie7

Bobbie,
Thanks for taking on my querry.
There are some 3-4 week camps in August, but I am looking for a
one-two week camp. That's why I posted my question.
The other possibility I was suggesting, is a course (not a sleep-away)
that will have to be within a commute distance from NYC. Then it could
be longer than 2 weeks. But I doubt you'll find a long course, in
August that starts after the 8th.
In summary - I was carefull in defining my parameters so that you will
be able to narrow the search significantly. Nothing else will work for
us this summer.
I hope that helps.

Thank you for your clarification.

I'll let you know if I find something else. In any case this question
will remain open and perhaps another researcher will find exactly what
you require.

Regards,
Bobbie7
