This was an interesting searching experience. I determined that
CoolEdit was originally a Syntrillium product. Syntrillium's site is
now operated by Adobe. In order to track down the program, I first
visited archive.org to examine cached pages from the syntrillium.com
site of years past. In looking through archived pages from 1999 I
found nothing about CoolEdit98, but there were several references to
CoolEdit96. Although the program could no longer be downloaded from
the cached pages, I did get the exact name to look for: c96setup. A
simple Google search led me to the Electronics Australia page linked
above.
