I just started a radio school at a community radio station, and I need
to come up with four talk breaks.

I want to find resources on how to create a talk break worth listening
to. I?m talking about general advice as well as instructions on how to
create new, interesting material to talk about.

Where can I find free resources to help me to create a radio talk break?

Hello Markabe--

This quesiton is right down my alley. But could you please clarify:
You're looking for resources that help create a talk radio break. For
what type of station should this be for? Or are you looking for
general information?

Most stations create "talk breaks" based on what's going on in their
communities and often simply read public service announcements or
present the weather during these breaks.

Thanks,

darrel-ga

darrel-ga,

It?s a youth station that focuses on new dance music, however I am
looking for information that I could use at any station.

For example, possible topics and how to present them in a humourous
and interesting way.

Seeing as it?s a community station, we are encouraged to be creative
and try out new things. It?s for a radio course so I guess that?s
another reason we have more leeway, as we will not be presenting the
breaks on air.
