I'm going this weekend to Boston. I have never been there. I would
like to know what area to stay in, so that I can be in the heart of
everything. I see there is the back bay area, downtown, financial
district etc. Basically, we are a group of people in our young - mid
20's, we would like bars, restuarants, shopping etc. Ideally, we
would like to be able to walk out of our hotel and be within blocks of
everything to avoid driving. I would need a hotel that does not
charge more than 150 per night. Any ideas for cool bars or
restuarants for our age group would be appreciated!

Hi julie99-ga!

Ah, Boston! I grew up an hour south of Boston and it is nothing short
of a fun, amazing, interesting, beautiful city--there is so much to
see and do and the "feel" of the city is vibrant and bustling, yet,
interestingly enough, quaint and rustic. I love Boston!

The T (the city transport/subway/metro system) will get you anywhere
you want to go in the city--from Fenway to Harvard Square to Back Bay
to well, you get the idea.

I HIGHLY recommend that you visit Harvard Square and definitely
suggest (strongly) that you eat at the Border Cafe. Here's a review:
http://boston.citysearch.com/profile/4745774. "The Border" is one of
my favorite places in the city and the food and ambience are
fantastic!

I can think of lots of additional places that are fun to visit just
off the top of my head . . . Fanueil Hall (SO many delectable treats
there!), Fenway Park, Cheers (my best friend growing up did not amuse
security any by yelling "Norm!" at the door of the establishment),
Harvard Square, the Freedom Trail . . .). Omigosh, I love Boston! You
will have so much fun!

Have a great trip!

Sincerely,
Boquinha-ga
