Additional information that may interest you:

?Seventy percent of working adults surveyed plan to take vacations in
2001, and nearly two-thirds of that group, 64 percent, think they will
travel when they do so. The numbers differ significantly between
full-time and part-time workers. Seventy-six percent of full-timers
plan to take vacation time, with 68 percent traveling. Only 52 percent
of part-timers think they will take time off. Almost all-51
percent-say they will travel if they do.

While nearly identical percent ages of men and women plan both to take
a personal vacation (72 percent and 70 percent, respectively) and to
travel during that time (65 percent and 64 percent, respectively), age
groups show significant differences in their plans:?

Age 18-34 Age 35-54 Age 55 and over
Travel 56% 70% 61%
Not Travel 4% 5% 16%

There is a major mistake in saying that the table in the beginning of
the answer shows the % of people who vacation in each age group. As
you can see by the fact that the numbers total to 100, is that these
percentages are the proportion of vacations taken broken down by age
group. For example, 31% of vacations are taken by people over 55.
This does NOT mean that 31% of people over 55 take vacations. You
would also have to know what portion of the overall population is
represented by each age group to figure this out.
