I'm after the title of a film, all I can remember is that I saw it on
tv in Hong Kong in 1994 or 1995 (so it's at least that old). It was a
foreign (non UK / US) movie, I think it was subtitled into English
although it might have been dubbed. The movie was set in Lapland or
one of the Northern European countries and the central character was a
young boy who (I think) became separated from his tribe (this is where
I get hazy) or his family there were either all attacked and killed by
'outsiders' or wolves or something. No special effects or sci-fi or
anything, just a straight movie with brilliant scenary (think lots of
snow and rocks) and a good story. One other thing I remember is that
it contained Yoik (spelling?) type singing as the background music -
the same style that Enigma ripped off for their 'age of innocence'
single that was popular about the same time. Not a lot of info to go
on I know, but I think it might be enough for someone whose seen the
movie.

was dubbed.  It was released in 1987 and was nominated in the best

Great movie, worth watching again. The boy's family (including little
sister) are killed by another tribe (viking types) who prefer stealing
furs and wiping out innocents to trapping their own. I won't ruin the
movie by filling in the rest.
