I am asking on behalf of an old friend of mine. He is 80 years old, lives in Kazakhstan (precisely on the Silk Road). Are there some American drugs invented to fight his disease of Saphenous Vasculitis (European classification)? what are the NAMES of the drugs, which are commonly used to fight the condition? Clarification: (His lower leg skin is covered by purple capillaries that getting inflamed and then his legs are dark purple and very painful). It has some different name in American classification, i know, but it is easy to find on the Web. He needs just the couple of the drug's NAMES, preferably generic ones. If he knew the names he could get them in Kazakhstan for his phisicians to evaluate and maybe to try on him. I know there is an American surgeon among Researches, it would be really appreciated if he could answer that from his experience. The condition relates to the vein inflamation type, but basicly the capillaries, skin and muscles are affected, so no surgery can be applied. | |

The term saphenous refers to two major surface leg veins. One is called the greater and the other the small saphenous vein. Vasculitis is a very general term for inflammation of the blood vessels that may be caused by disease, infection, exposure to chemicals, cancer, or rheumatic diseases. Treatments are generally directed toward stopping the inflammation and suppressing the immune system. The following website comes from one of the most respected hospitals in the US and has information about the disease part of vasculitis. Give this message to the doctors and see what they say. Types of treatments and medicine names are also listed, but please remember, only a medical doctor can determine what is the best to try. Each person is different and what may work for one person, may fail on another and could easily harm them with out medical supervision. I am not a Google researcher and I offer you this information on my own. Your Google answer people may supplement this information with more resources for the doctors to work with. May your friend be rid of his torment soon. Gilgunn ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Johns Hopkins Vasculitis Center http://vasculitis.med.jhu.edu/ These sites may also be of help to his doctors.
