I'm curious and I'd understand if this question doesn't get answered,
but I am currently in school for computers. I haven't been in the
school that long, but one of the issues we discuss is password
security. I have a computer at work that I want to get into, but only
to see if I can, the computer runs Windows 2000 and it's on a domain.
I want to know how can I retrieve the domain password?

As you expected, Google Answers researchers are not allowed to answer
questions relating to illegal activity. Hacking a password on a system
that you are not entitled to use absolutely constitutes illegal
activity.

Therefore neither I, nor any other Google Researcher, can answer your question.

For your reference, the comment below by jumpintotheweb-ga is mostly accurate.

First there is no domain password. Second there are user passwords,
and admin passwords. I guess the question would be could you hack into
another user,or admin account. The answer would be yes you can,
except there might be logs on the server that log incorrect logins,
and if there are security policy's on the server, it might lock out
that account you are trying to gain access to, and most of all you
could be fired from your job if they ever found out that you have been
trying to gain unauthorised access to their system. So the final
answer would be yes you can, but it is risky. I hope this is useful.
