Hi troysigchi,

Good day. In searching for your requirements, I came across a
couple of such packages, but they were very flimsy. They had very
limited functionality, and user friendliness was next to nil. It gave
me every indication that individual software for each of the two
functions would be the best option.

For tracking employee time off,

Mycroft TimeOff ($89.95)
http://www.mycroftcomputing.com/timeoff.html
"TimeOff is a scheduling program suitable for offices or businesses in
which it is important to track employee attendance. It features the
easy to use "drag and drop" method for entering when an employee was
not at work and why."

Time Tracker - Staff and Employee Scheduling Software ($295.00 up to
50 employee limit )
http://www.asgardsystems.com/
"Time Tracker is more than just employee scheduling! Time Tracker
tracks vacation time, sick time, lieu time, and user defined other
time. It analyses past activity and prepares data for payroll."

For scheduling,

Cybermatrix Pro Sched (10 seat license $200)
http://www.cyber-matrix.com/prosched.html
Pro Sched is an easy to use appointment scheduler. Pro Sched is ideal
for doctors, dentists, lawyers or any other professionals that often
schedule appointments.

AltaPoint ($995, 2 to 10 Users)
http://www.altapoint.com/altalaw.htm
AltaPoint combines billing, inventory, scheduling, reminders, clinical
records, and many other features in one system

LawLog Professional ($499.99)
http://www.lawlog.com/lawlogpro.htm
"Manage time, billing, calendaring, contacts and case details from a
single repository that automatically integrates with Windows® Office
Suites and other popular software."

One or more of the above products should be able to help you.

Cheers,
aditya2k

I'm a fan of cheap and useful software and recommend you take a quick
look at two products produced by Brown Bear Software:

   Brown Bear Software
   http://www.brownbearsoftware.com/

Disclaimer: I have no affiliation of any type to Brown Bear Software
other than I'm a happy paying customer.

iCal (Windows based calendar server) and Calcium (Unix/Linux based
calendar server). Neither of these products are technically "Legal
Office Calendaring Systems" but I have used them for years because of
their simplicity. Think of a paper calendar, but accessible via the
net. iCal's fairly open nature makes it pretty easy to twist into any
shape you want. We maintain a departmental calendar where everyone can
enter information on the calendar without a password. Various
sub-calendars feed into the main calendar (e.g., we post a desk
schedule which feeds right into the main calendar. Only the person
maintaining the sub-calendar has access to modifying that information.
iCal is trivial to install and the "top o' the line" version costs
$495. You can download and install a free test version which is only
restricted in that you can have a single calendar, and no email
features.

There's also a live demo page at:

   http://www.brownbearsw.com/ical/demopage.html

I recommend this as an alternative to most high end calendar and
scheduling software in general. We rebelled against the MS Outlook
hegemony in favor of the Calcium product and haven't looked back.

Also, if it isn't suitable you should be able to tell fairly quickly.

I didn't get an email saying you'd answered it, I had to check back
here to find out. Any clue as to why that is? I have "every time
there is activity" set in my profile.

When a comment is posted, you don't get a notification by e-mail.
However, this has been suggested to the concerned authorities.
