I need a Linux expert in Dallas who can help us do Linux kernal
patch/upgrade for a few hours.  We can pay them as a contractor by the
hour.
I would like you to help me find such a person, the person must have the following:
1. is very knowledgable in Linux
2. has actual experience in doing Linux kernal patches/upgrades
3. can come onsite here in dallas to help us with this for a few hours
I would like you to find the person and verify the above points.

Hi!

Would it be ok to make a list of Linux consultants in Dallas. I will
also  try to find in their profile page how long they have been Linux
experts. I do not know these people but I can find consultants on the
web and from their you can inquire about their services and then judge
for yourself.

Will this be accepted as a legitimate answer?

May I suggest Brian Elliot Finley, the team lead for SystemImager
  http://www.systemimager.org/
which is a product I use to clone systems used in clusters. You can
get contact information from

He's the first one listed, lives in Dallas, and notes he is willing to
do contract work.

Part of what he does for SystemImager is prepare BOEL, a small linux
system suitable for network download or floppy (or CD) booting. I know
he is familiar with customizing the kernel - not so sure about
patches, but you should ask him directly about that.
