Are there any common, commercial, end-user applications written in Java? By common, I mean -- the sort of thing that might be on the shelves at Walmart or Best Buy. I don't mean any Java development software (like JBuilder, or Forte) Thanks and all the best, Chess |

I'm not sure whether it's written in Java but I know the word processor in Lindows (Linux)which walmart uses in it's PCs can also be used in Windows so there's a good chance that it is. |

Maybe you are talking about Star Office. I don't think that is written in Java -- but I could be wrong. |

No, cause Java is pathetically slow. Some games on cell phones are written in java, but those are painfully slow as well. |
