Hi,

I am going to study abroad in Valencia, Spain in the Fall. I am
wanting information on flights to Spain in the Valencia Area. I am
located in San Francisco and could fly out of SFO, OAK or SJO. I
could also fly out of Charlotte, NC. I am looking to depart around
this August the 26th. The return would be around December 14th.

I am looking for the cheapest fares. You can factor in airport
destinations around Valencia Spain including barcelona, madrid, etc.
Basically what airports and airlines offer the cheapest service. This
includes student bargain deals.

Please feel free to ask for clarification.

Here is the absolute cheapest way to go to Europe.

http://www.airtech.com/

They will book you a ticket to Europe on a major airline from selected
cities for $169. There is a catch however. They have a deal with the
airlines to sell the leftover tickets. Unfortunately the airlines
don't release these tickets for sale until one week before departure.

So airtech requires that you have a 2 or 3 day window for your
departure and return. You purchase your voucher, and call airtech to
let them know when you want to go. Then you call in on the Wednesay
before your travel date to find out the exact flight.

According to the website:

"When using the Air-Tech FlightPass, you provide us a period of time
that you want to fly. We call this your "Departure Window" and it's
usually 2,3, or 4 days, depending on your destination and the time of
year you want to go. During your Departure Window, we guarantee to fly
you or we will give you a refund (see refund policy) or book you a
confirmed-reserved seat at a competitive price, whichever you prefer.
We are successful 94% of the time, as long as the traveler is
sufficiently flexible with dates and destinations."

According to them, and others who have used them, it is without a
doubt the cheapest way to fly to Europe. They fly to a number of
destinations in Europe, but each week the exact cities will depend on
availability. There's always a catch. I have nothing to do with these
people, but happened to hear about it from a friend, who heard about
it.....

Hope this helps!

This answer won't work as I am not that flexible, but I did make it
seem like I had flexibility and that is much cheaper than anything
else anyone found.

Pl go to www.priceline.com and bid for it. As your times are flexible,
you should get a good deal.

Concurring -go to Priceline.com and "bid" say $99. Note, at a point in
the biding procedure comes a space of "no-return" meaning if an
airline "hits" your bid, your credit card is auto debited. Last year I
went to Sydney Australia return for $500 via Guam using PriceLine bid.
Also try > Expedia.com> and >dargal.com<

Hi Ryan,

I travel to Europe several times a year. I have always obtained the
best online fares at Expedia.com when I have booked online. But I
don't always book online because there have been times when I've
simply called the airline directly (I always travel with Lufthansa)
and obtained a better fare than anything I found published online. But
the fares I book are not student fares.

Do you have an ISIC ID card? I've heard that it entitles you to
student travel discounts. I don't know anyone who's actually used it
though. You can find out more about it here:

ISIC Card

One thing I do to plan my travel is to go to the home page of the
airport in my destination city. I look at the incoming flight
schedules to determine which airlines service that airport and which
cities are the major hubs connecting to that airport. Then I use that
information on Expedia or visit the airlines' web sites looking for
bargain fares. Also, at Expedia you can sign up to receive email fare
tracker reports from various cities.

I hope you enjoy Europe and your opportunity to travel :)

Everybody seems to have overlooked some of the big ones. What I
usually do is shop these sites, and then bid on priceline anywhere
from 1/4 to 3/4 of the absolute best price you can find. If you don't
win the bid, oh well. if you do, great! (Priceline tip: a lot of
people have told me they won, even though they ignored a suggestion by
Priceline to increase the bid.)

I am also going away to study abroad in Spain, but at Salamanca, which
happens to be near Madrid also... anyway, this comment is just a
recommendation for you: Check the end of the semester! I know it might
seem that the world uses the same educational system and dates all
over the world, specially in student exchange agreements, but it
doesn´t. My semester starts in October and ends in February, and other
universities do start in September but end their fall semester in
January, like Sevilla... so double check before buying the tickets, it
might save you some money.
