I am a single parent in the military and recently decided to not
reenlist due to my child going through teenagers years and the effect
it would have on my absents away for 1 to 2 years

I think this would be an excellent idea!
Why? Because my dad was never there for me.
He was a pilot always away. I took it out on other kids at school and
everyone else hated me.
Do your son/daughter a favor and stay home with them when they need you most
