I have been unable to access the website ftp://204.108.10.72 from my
hone PC. Yet I had no problem at work. All I receive in a google search is:

Your search - "ftp://204.108.10.72" - did not match any documents.

dick12-ga:

Google does not index FTP sites, in general.

The IP address you provided for the FTP server is located in
Washington, DC. From my own PC, I am able to reach the FTP server
located at this IP address, or at least I am able to reach the login
challenge window.

Can you clarify what you mean by "unable to access"? Does this mean
that you are not able to get to the login challenge? Or do you mean
that you get to the challenge, but are not able to login?

Thanks,

What happens when you type "ftp://204.108.10.72" directly into the
Address box in your web browser? If an error message comes up, please
copy it word for word into a clarification.

As well, you mention that you tried to search for this FTP server
using Google. Again, Google does not index FTP sites, especially ones
that do not use a domain name, so naturally you will not find anything
in Google for this FTP server. FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol,
and is different from the HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) that
webpages use.

Please let me know exactly what appears on the screen when you type
ftp://204.108.10.72 in the Address field of your web browser. Or,
better yet, just click on any of the underlined ftp://204.108.10.72
links on this page, and then let me know exactly what appears.

I put the address ftp://204.108.10.72/ directly into Internet Explorer
and I was prompted for username and password. I am not sure why you
are putting this into the google search bar, but that is definately
not the problem if you are accessing it from work.

Tell us what happens when you try to get to it from Internet Explorer,
and then if that does not work, we can look at your firewall or
system.
