hello answer people,
i am looking for a few links and reviews of linux server software for live chat.

requirements:
-the software has to allow chat between logged in users.
-no software should have to be downloaded by user.
-should be customizable to fit current site.
-should be supported.
-file sharing would be nice.
-no webcam capability needed.

Based on your request, an IRC server is probably just what you're
looking for. There are a number of readily available IRC clients for
most platforms, as well as Java clients (if you really want to avoid
downloading software to users' computers). You can also use an
existing IRC server to host your chat.
