I have in my possession a large quantity of woven and knitted wool
clothing that has come out of storage with too much moth damage to be
repaired. I very much would like to keep it out of the waste stream,
and I know that there are ways that used wool fibers can be profitably
re-used. I just cannot find an entity that will do this.

It seems to me that one of the major charitable organizations used to
accept donations that could be sorted and, if necessary, re-used at
the fiber level. I cannot now find any group willing to do that.

When I search combinations of wool or fiber + recycling or reuse, I
find only business-to-business opportunities.

I am willing to send clean but damaged garments anywhere in the United
States (with non-wool bits removed, if necessary) that the wool can be
made use of, but I need a willing recipient. Thanks.

Here's a Canadian lady who uses old wool clothing to make rugs:

"I work full time as a rug hooking artist. Each piece I create is
different from the last. I use recycled cloth, gather old wool
clothing from real people in real communities. The clothes are washed
dryed and torn apart. It is then hooked loop by loop on a a backing of
burlap or linen."
