Question ID: 314315
When running Add/Remove program (Control Panel) to uninstall
WordPerfect Office 2002 OEM, prior to installing WordPerfect Office
2003, uninstallation is halted and rolled back. I see an error
message: "An MSI failure has occurred: MsInstall Product: 1603.
Uninstall cancelled successfully" Question: Can I install
WordPerfect Office 2003 directly over WP Office 2002, OR how do I
uninstall WordPerfect 2002? I am not interested in entering the
Registry!! (My computer skills are not sufficient.)

Hello Researcher225 ~

Have you tried first reinstalling the 2002 OEM over itself and then
tried the uninstall?

Often this is all that is needed to successfully uninstall any program.

Thanks,
Serenata

I cannot re-install WordPerfect 2002 OEM because the program was
loaded from a CD at a computer shop. I was hoping not to have to
return there with my computer. There is no file setup32.exe on my
computer, required for installation.

Wehn you recieve the error, hit Ctrl+alt+Delete. Bring up the task
manager and end the install process. This will keep it from rolling
back. If the error occurs near the end of the installation the program
will run fine with this little trick. I have fooled several programs
by doing this.

When I hit Ctrl-Alt-Del I do not bring up the Task Manager. (I am
using Windows 98SE). I receive a box offering 3 choices - End Task,
Shut Down or Cancel. Which should I click on? The uninstaller has
already rolled back before I receive the Failure message; can I
interrupt the process before receiving the error message? Thank you
for your help
