Experiment time :-)

Ok, I need some research done on Fanny Crosby (blind hymn writer).
This research must come from "authoritive" sources. Books are fine,
just not kiddy or young adult books. Accurate adult biographies,
etc., are fine. You can use your judgement on the authoritive source,
but please note that I will be rating this question. I'm writing a
paper and I don't have the time to look this up myself.

I've got a list of questions. The answer to this question will answer
TWO questions from out of my list. I will then post another question
with another list until all my questions are answered. If you have
any questions with this, please ask for clarification.

These questions must be answered with SPECIFIC EXAMPLES. Please
review this question to tell what I mean by "specific example":
http://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=threadview&id=31295

List of questions:

 - Did Fanny Crosby have any specific conflicts with authority (parental,
legal, anybody/anything in position over her)?

 - Did Fanny Crosby ever commit a sin and ask God to forgive her
(specific example of asking forgiveness)?

 - Did Fanny Crosby ever yield "rights" to God or another person?
Examples of rights are: right to wealth, right to good reputation,
right to be served by others, right to physrical comforts and right to
make own decisions. Basic "rights" we as humans have that Fanny
Crosby submitted to God or another person.

 - Did Fanny Crosby ever yield or suffer from sexual temptation (see
above reference question for more info on this question)?

Out of those four questions, I need specific authoritive examples for
TWO of them to satisfy this answer. If you have any questions on this
question or your answer, please ask for clarification. A rating will
be given.

If you cannot successfully answer this question according to my
specifications, DO NOT post your answer. I will reject it. If this
question has gone unanswered for a while, you may post a clarification
request asking if your answer would be ok, otherwise, no incomplete
answers.  Thank you.

xemion,

Whether one agrees or disagrees with her personal beliefs, Fanny
Crosby was obviously a talented and dedicated woman.

Given your specific example
(http://answers.google.com/answers/main?cmd=threadview&id=31295), I
know of no more authoritative source than the words of Fanny Crosby
herself, woven throughout her hymns. The lyrics to a few hundred of
her hymns are available on the Web at:

The Cyber Hymnal
http://www.cyberhymnal.org/

"This site has over 3,500 Christian hymns and Gospel songs from many
denominations. You’ll find lyrics, scores, MIDI files, pictures,
history, and more."

For the sake of brevity, specific examples from Fanny's lyrics are
quoted in my two answers below. Please visit the Web link for each
hymn to read its lyrics in full context.

Thank you,
huntsman

O forgive this heart of mine,
Cleanse me now and seal me Thine."

A. Yes. As evidenced in the following hymns, Fanny Crosby yielded her

All its joys are but a name;
But His love abideth ever,
Through eternal years the same."

In His cross my trust shall be,
Till, with clearer, brighter vision,
Face to face my Lord I see."

"A Few More Marchings Weary"
Words: Fanny Crosby, 1882.
http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/f/e/fewmorem.htm

"A few more marchings weary, then we’ll gather home!
A few more storm clouds dreary, then we’ll gather home!
A few more days the cross to bear,
And then with Christ a crown to wear;
A few more marchings weary, then we’ll gather home!

[Refrain]

O’er time’s rapid river, soon we’ll rest forever;
No more marchings weary when we gather home!

A few more nights of weeping, then we’ll gather home!
A few more watches keeping, then we’ll gather home!
A few more vict’ries over sin,
A few more sheaves to gather in,
A few more marchings weary, then we’ll gather home!

[Refrain]

A few more sweet links broken, then we’ll gather home!
A few more kind words spoken, then we’ll gather home!
A few more partings on the strand,
And then away to Canaan’s land:
A few more marchings weary, then we’ll gather home!"

http://www.cyberhymnal.org/htm/s/a/saviormo.htm

Excerpts:

"Savior, more than life to me,
I am clinging, clinging, close to Thee;"

"Through this changing world below,
Lead me gently, gently as I go;
Trusting Thee, I cannot stray,
I can never, never lose my way."

"Let me love Thee more and more,
Till this fleeting, fleeting life is o’er;
Till my soul is lost in love,
In a brighter, brighter world above."
