Howdy kenj-ga!

Craftsman (Sears) chainsaws are made by Poulan, which is owned
by Electrolux.

From a GardenWeb forum page.
http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/load/tools/msg122047526512.html

"Not intending to hijack the thread, but the Electrolux group
has been pretty much the largest chainsaw manufacturer in the
world for some time now.

Electrolux owns the following brands:

McCulloch
Poulan (which incorporated Partner of Sweden and Pioneer of Canada)
- Poulan also make chainsaws under the Craftsman brand
Husqvarna
Jonsered"

From another GardenWeb forum page.
http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/load/tools/msg010019234784.html

"Poulan saws are available at most home centers and some hardware
stores and also through Sears under the Craftsman name."

From a Epionions.com web page.
http://www.epinions.com/content_102110301828

"One last point- Sear's saws are simply Poulan saws with 'Craftsman'
labels and black plastic case parts. If none of this appeals to you,
then avoid Craftsman as well."

From the Mountain Top Farms "Basic Chainsaw Course" page.
http://www.mountainfarm.com/chainsaw.htm

"Keep in mind that retail stores, such as Sears, have various
manufacturers build their chain saws for them and then put their own
name on them, such as Craftsman (last made by Poulan)."

From the Poulan "Electrolux Home Products Corporate History" page.
http://www.poulan.com/corphist.asp

"Combined, we are the leading North American manufacturer of gas-,
electric-, and battery-powered handheld outdoor power equipment,
lawn mowers and lawn and garden tractors. ... Many of our products
proudly bear the Sears Craftsman and Kenmore labels."

If you need any clarification, feel free to ask.

I believe Craftsmen is a division of Sears.
