I am working in FrontPage and my homepage and another page report this error: "An error has occured in the script on this page. Line: 4 Char: 1 Error: Syntax error Code: 0 URL: file://C:\Documents and Settings\Jude\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\IWLUV94P\[1].htm Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?" And when the pages load, they say at the bottom in the status bar: "Done, but with errors." The pages are: www.mammasmilk.com www.mammasmilk.com/double_layer.htm How do I fix this? | |

Hello, jude1: On the pages you get the error, you have this code for the tracker: <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="http://www.vtrax.net/trak.js?1064245169"></script> While on the pages that work, that is, you don't see any error, this is the code you have for the tracker: <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="http://www.vtracker.net/trak.js?1064245169"></script> Pay attention to the domain name, vtracker.net instead vtrax.net, if you make this little change on the index and double_layer.htm page, that error will be removed. In any case, please, don't hesitate to request for any clarification. Regards. |

The error in question is a JavaScript error. By looking at the source code, it appears as though you are using built in FrontPage components for image swaps, and possibly their shared borders (for the nav). The image swap usings the scripting language of javascript on the client side (your browser), to perform the dynamic actions. I would start by removing the image swap actions in FrontPage, and recreating them. Possibly the source got corrupted somewhere in your development process(which is not uncommon when you are using built in components like this). If this does not work, try removing and recreating the "shared border" (or whatever they may call it now in frontpage), that you used to create the navigation structure. More than likely, one of these will take care of this issue. **NOTES**- more often than not, the "error on line number X at char position Y" message is useless, so ignore it. Also, be careful using the built in FrontPage components - often times these actions only work in Internet Explorer. |
