Dear Dragonfly,
I am posting this as a comment, since I was not been able to locate
any biography of this artist. Adriano Bonifazi is less known 19th
century Italian painter, who was active in Rome between the late 1860s
and 1892. There is no material available on him online or off-line in
art encyclopedias and similar sources (at least the ones I looked
into).
He did mostly oil works. Idea Hobby, an Italian site which contains a
review of his works (the only one located), mentions that Bonifazi
sold mostly to foreigners who visited Italy and needed some folklorist
or popular theme. He painted the lives of ?simple? people from Naples
, Sicily and Caprice.
Idea Hobby ? an estimation of his works (in Italian).

This site, and a couple of others, give estimates of the value of his
works, in thousands of dollars. |
