Hello ralfala-ga:

Thank You for your question. There are many software on the market
that will filter the objectionable content and allow your kid to surf
safely. The only problem lies in evaluating which software to select?
What I will do here is to provide you a very simple guideline on where
you may get software of your choice and how to get the best.

I will try to provide you a brief but concise answer instead of giving
you a lot of confusing details. I will continue to provide you any
future assistance, if needed.

BASIC INFORMATION

First read this brief report by Consumer Reports on the topic of Child
Protection Software. Don?t worry about their software recommendations.
We will cover this topic, later on.
http://www.consumerreports.org/main/content/display_report.jsp?FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=348251&bmUID=1078936359145

Now, click on a few weblinks on this page to get an overview of what
types of software are actually available in the market.

RATINGS AND REVIEWS

FAMOUS
Here are the reviews of the top six software by the SuperKids website.
http://www.superkids.com/aweb/pages/reviews/kidsafe/1/sw_sum1.shtml
>> By famous, it does not mean that they are the best. On the other
hand, some of these are excellent and might be a great choice.

ALL OTHERS
Now, read the reviews of several child protection software by
consumers like you who have actually used these software. These
reviews are provided by the most comprehensive website, for such a
topic, on the internet http://www.filterreview.com. Click here to
review http://www.filterreview.com/reviews.asp
>>> Please notice that sometimes even excellent software will get a
bad rating from a specific consumer. Read the review of that consumer
to judge yourself if it is the software or the consumer who got it
wrong. The best method in selecting reliable software is to check its
overall rating and also the number of reviews. The greater the number
of reviews, the greater the chances of verification.

You should also check this tool provided by ?GetNetWise? to select
child protection software according to your very needs. Please click
on this link http://www.filterreview.com/reviews.asp

Once you have decided on which software to choose, you can type in the
name of that software on the Google search engine to get many
different websites that sell the software.

Hello Leader-ga.

I appreciated the answer you sent me on 14 March. At this point, I've
narrowed my choice down to CyberPatroland WebChaperone, but I can't
seem to find more info on WebChaperone, or reviews of it other than
the brief paragraph on www.superkids.com. And I'm a little concerned
about the stated "difficulty of installation" with respect to
CyberPatrol.

Any advice?

Dear Leader-ga,

Why can't I find a more thorough review (other than one short
paragraph by SuperKids) of WebChaperone? This is one of the protective
software that I found from your instructions.

Have you checked out this review?

http://www.worldvillage.com/wv/hotel/html/reviews/webchaperone.htm
ralfala-ga rated this answer:4 out of 5 stars and gave an additional tip of: $5.00
Leader-ga's answers to my initial question, then to my request for
clarification, were very helpful. My only complaint, and I don't
think this is Leader-ga's fault, is that the info is not as recent as
I would have preferred. But this may well be because of the rapidly
changing technology in protective software for children. Or is it
because I didn't offer to pay more for the answer when I initially
submitted it?
